My Journey

My professional journey is rooted in over fifteen years of teaching, beginning in 2009 in the classrooms of Malaysia. Serving as a Tutor and later a Lecturer, and subsequently as a Teaching Assistant in the UK, I gained firsthand perspectives on the challenges and triumphs of learning. This extensive time in academia cultivated a deep-seated curiosity about how data could illuminate human behavior and learning patterns, compelling me to seek answers at a more profound level.

This pursuit led me to the University of Southampton, where I completed my PhD in Computer Science, focusing on MOOC Performance Measurement and Learning Analytics. While my doctoral research provided the theoretical frameworks to ask the right questions, I discovered that true impact comes from building the tools to answer them—architecting systems that collect, process, and visualize data in real-world environments. This insight catalyzed my transition from pure academia into entrepreneurship and industry.

I have since co-founded several ventures bridging education and technology. One of my key achievements was securing seed funding from MDEC (Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation), a government agency, to develop and scale a mobile learning application. This experience reinforced my belief that the most meaningful solutions emerge when rigorous research meets practical business acumen and real-world user needs.

Today, as a Technologist, Researcher, and Founder, I help organizations transform their vision into reality through consulting, custom development, and innovative ventures. As I look to the next chapter of my journey, I am actively seeking opportunities to bridge the gap between industry and academia once more. I remain open to research collaborations, as well as research or teaching fellowships that allow me to contribute to both cutting-edge discovery and the development of the next generation of talent.
